A day in the life of a Talent Manager

Ever wondered what it’s like working in the talent team at Flourish MGMT?

Our Talent Manager MADDI HAYES shares ‘A day in the life of’ to give you a glimpse into what she gets up to.

9:30am – 10am

I start off the day by checking my calendar, seeing what meetings and calls I have for the day and understanding my key priorities.

I also use this time to respond to any emails that came in throughout the morning, check in with our talent and scroll through the news to see what’s happening in the world of social media.

10am – 11am

We usually have a morning WIP meeting where the talent team discuss what they are working on for the day, any paid partnerships or collaborations that are going live and share key insights from the previous day.

11am – 12pm

After we’ve caught up with the wider team, it's time to get stuck into emails. The majority of conversations I have are with brands, agencies and of course our talent.

We discuss potential partnerships, collaborations, press opportunities and events. I then check in with our talent, we usually have regular meetings set up with our talent roster so we are able to check in with them and share updates in person.

12pm – 1pm

Lunchtime! We work 3 days in the office, so depending on where I am, the team usually head out together to grab lunch. Normally go-to places are M&S, Pret and Itsu. Our founders really encourage us to take a break from our desks, get some fresh air and have a moment away from our screens.

1pm – 4pm

I like to use this time to do outreach, connect with brands and explore new opportunities for our talent.  We look after a roster of 24 girls, so it gets busy in the talent team, it's important for us to align and check in regularly to discuss priorities.

In our day-to-day, there is often a creative shoot happening, an event our talent are attending or an in-person meeting with a brand to discuss strategy, so every day looks very different for us. I love having variation in my job, as no day looks the same and I am always meeting new faces.

4pm-5pm

Near the end of the day I like to review everything I’ve worked on in, pull together a list of to-do’s for the following day and check the calendar for any events/shoots for the rest of the week.

It’s important to make sure for any brand collaborations our talent have received the products and are fully briefed on expectations from the brand, so I do a check-in to make sure that our talent is happy and received everything they need.

Finally, we have one last catch-up of the day to review everything and finalise anything that needs to be dealt with.

Flourish is seeking a Talent Intern to support our talent team with enthusiasm, energy and efficiency.

If this sounds like it could be you, please email your cover letter and CV to maddi@flourishmgmt.co.uk
